PLOT:
The game follows Alexander J. Mercer, who wakes up on a morgue slab in the basement of Gentek, a large, influential genetic engineering company. He escapes and sets out to regain his memory and discover what happened. He soon discovers that he possesses powerful shapeshifting abilities, granting him superhuman strength, speed, agility, durability, weaponry, and the ability to consume people to gain their memories, skills, and appearance. Without any memory of his past, Alex must track down and consume those involved in the conspiracy to uncover the truth. During his quest, he faces two factions: Blackwatch is a Fort Detrick special forces unit dedicated to combating biological warfare. The Infected consist of civilians who have contracted a strange virus, as well as powerful monsters known as Hunters. Captain Cross, a Blackwatch officer, has been given orders to find and contain Alex.
