One of the main " feautres" of this game is the Oppai Rank,you actually need to do this as some items in stages can only be obtained with the appropriate Oppai Rank.Those silly red statues in certain stages that grope your characters will only allow you to get the item if you satisfy the necessary rank.It also unlocks certain stuff like the character's hair or underwear for use with other characters.
