Tokyo Wakusei Planetokio is a stylish sidescrolling adventure from OutSide Directors Company and Osamu Sato, the mastermind behind LSD: Dream Simulator and Rhythm 'n Face.

The story of the game takes place in a futuristic, neon-lit city of Planetokio residing on floating platforms far above the ground, which comes under threat of alien robot invasion. You play as a ramen delivery boy Iken who gets caught up in the events.

The gameplay of Tokyo Wakusei Planetokio follows the standard adventure routine: you explore the area, talk to the citizens, acquire special items and then use them in the right place to advance the story and access new locations. Occasionally, the gameplay is broken up with a strategic turn-based battle, which makes TWP a somewhat unorthodox representative of the genre.

The game spans three CDs filled to the brim with CGi cutscenes and voiced dialogue none of which is subtitled.
