Playing through Arcade Mode in the PS2 Classics version of Capcom vs. SNK 2 on PS3, and getting to and beating Ultimate Rugal ("U. Rugal"). Beating him (or Shin Akuma) also unlocks the stage on which you fight him, Osaka: Flaming City.

To get to either U. Rugal or S. Akuma--which one you face at the end seems to be pretty much random--you either have to earn 1500 "Groove Points" while playing through the matches in Arcade Mode prior to reaching the boss stage, or you have to get a "Finest KO," which you can get either by a few specific combinations of happening to counter an enemy special or super with your own special or super, or by finishing them off with a level 3 super while they taunt you.

I'm really pretty bad at the game (I played this on the easiest difficulty, too : P), and figured I'd probably never happen to hit one of the combinations required to earn a Finest KO, so I'd have to earn 1500 Groove Points in order to reach U. Rugal. I was trying to do that here by racking up Perfects through spamming fireballs with Sagat, which I am not good at and which was not really working; I was well short of the total heading into the final round of the final match before the boss stage when, curiously enough, my final opponent, Iori, when near death, and me with the requisite level 3 super energy meter, taunted me--this goes down at about 12:08 in the video--and I happened (I was going to do it anyway; I only half realized afterwards that he had taunted me and thought huh, weird) to fire my level 3 super at just that moment, killing him, and thus earned the Finest K.O. (of the "Dramatic KO Finish variety) at the last possible opportunity, and got to go face U. Rugal.

U. Rugal was looking pretty mean, but after a try or two I picked Zangief as my lead character, and took out the big bad boss character with him all on his lonesome somehow. I've watched that part of the video multiple times now and I'm still not quite sure how I managed it. : o So I'm not sure how helpful this will be to anyone, since I pretty much lucked into the whole thing, but anyway, there you have it.
