The latest update for the PS4 is causing major problems for a lot of users, as update 9.00 is possibly bricking some machines.
The reports of some consoles not being able to load anything after the update, and the update essentially bricking the PS4, are hugely concerning. Further, they may be more difficult to fix. The wide array of reported problems should be a big motivation for Sony to fix this quickly, but if consoles are no longer operational due to a software update, Sony could be in real trouble. It's unlikely that many PS4s will be destroyed by this update though, and in reality, it has only affected a small percentage of PS4 owners. However, it will have an impact on consumer loyalty based on how Sony addresses the problem.
