It's very tempting to use your long distance telescopic sight - 3x, 4x, 6x, 8x at times when actually your short-distance scope - Red Dot, Holo, 2x, would be more effective in a gunfight.
My rule of thumb is to use my long-distance scope against stationary targets at medium range if I want to hit an accurate head-shot and with a quick follow up series of body-shots, but if my enemy is moving, I'll burst-spray with my close-range scope.
