I've been using PAMix for a while and it's perfectly fine, it does everything you need from a pulseaudio interface but then someone clued me onto Pulsemixer which is honestly so much better. There's a few things PAMix does better but overall pulsemixer is probably a way better choice to control you pulseaudio settings.
