I like to mess around with the vim plugins I run and one that I'm really liking right now is quickscope, so it may not be clear from the title what this does but basically it will highlight the characters to the left and the right of the cursor when you press F, f, T, or t to show you which key you have to press following that to jump to a word. This vastly improvements movement within vim because you no longer have to guess which key to press.
