Hello, and welcome back to Pwnery's Penny Arcade. Today on the Last 30, we haxxed it. This is Firegirl, Hack and Splash Rescue - a delightful little 2D, simulated 3d sidescroller where you take on the role of the daughter of a town's firefighter, and unravel the mysteries of both his death, his partners, and this strange explosion of fires cropping up all over town. Equipped with your axe, firehose, and engrained know-how - rescue people, pets, and find new allies to help around the station and aid in your budding new career. I broke the bank and show you what you can do with almost all of the upgrades at your fingertips. This is a great lesson in "you can't buy skill" as you'll see - you can still die in the dumbest ways imaginable, but if anything - this episode will reveal that there is a LOT more story to this game than I had initially believed there to be - definitely something that'll keep me playing this title off-channel in my own free time.

What starts out as a seemingly repetitive scenario platformer, turns out to be quite the clever randomly generated set of scenes that increase in difficulty and overall challenge. There is no 'easy' or 'difficult' mode - it's always difficult, all the time, but in not too frustrating of a way.

Why 3 episodes this time around? Well - I wasn't sure how far to take it to be perfectly honest, but towards the last episode you'll see that there's a LOT more to this game than I was able to discover - which will leave you all with something to find on your own.
