Pwnery's Reloading Bench - Reloading 9mm For the Apocalypse
Now just calm down ... I'm not predicting an apocalypse, nor is this technically reloading for one, I just wanted an edgy title.
What I'm actually doing here is showing you an alternative way to reload 9mm based on a lot of research on my part using sources other than just forums. I've spoken to several fellow hand-loaders, competition shooters, accredited gunsmiths and even a handful of manufacturer's of the components and the consensus across the board was the same. Yes ... in a pinch, you *can* use small rifle primers in place of small pistol ones. Do your own research if you don't want to believe it - you'll discover that quite a few Competition shooters will *only* use them.
So, in this video, at the time of this upload, we're handloading 9mm rounds using CCI #400 Small *Rifle* primers. The reason was simple - the shortage of small pistol primers in most of the country has forced us to seek a substitute - and one was right there and readily available. Now don't all go running out and buying up the SRP's in my area now that the cat is out of the bag!
I can also verify that this practice has worked for .380ACP loads as well, as tested with my S&W Performance Center .380 EZ Shield.
So in any event, sit back, relax, enjoy - and remember that you can always refer back to this video for any of my other quick-and-dirty PRB reloading video's for reference when I skip that part of the time-lapses for whichever caliber and recipe I decide to share in the future.
Note : I do not do these videos for any monetary gain thanks to the "unique" changes YouTube has made in their requirements for monetized content, and have maintained procedural information as close as possible in line with their new guidelines as well. I do these videos for solely for the spread of information, and maybe a little notoriety in my often-infringed upon community.
