QT30E - Foreclosed - A Fast-Paced Story In A Beautifully Realized World
The newest video in the QT30E series is the #PS4 version of #Foreclosed, a game from Antab Studio.
I thought the artsyle of the this game looked unique and i wasn't disappointed. the game smartly combines a comic aesthetic with touches of Cyberpunk to create a world that felt cohesive and the gameplay mechanics of QTE's helped add to it. another recent game i played, Chants of Sennaar also achieved such a feat and is well worth a watch at https://youtu.be/jDviuDAU0yQ.
the game wastes no time with tutorials as your immediately starting the story. But because the gameplay revolves around basic movement and QTE's, it doesn't feel inaccessible or intimidating. when new mechanics are added later, it's clearly shown on screen and rarely does it feel like the game is rushing you through these steps. the only thing i had issue with was the shooting. near the end of this video, there's a section where shooting is introduced but the controls felt a little off...not quite what i was expecting. there wasn't a way to do the tutorial again and i had to continue the story. in this part of the video, things are tense and things are coming fairly quickly and i didn't feel like i had as much control as i was expecting. so i did die and that's when i ended the video.
This is a shorter look at #foreclosed so it's difficult to say what difficulties await later on. However, what i played was great and i would highly recommend it. If anything, i wanted the world to be bigger and explore it. but this game is more story driven and whilst we can see a lot of the world, that's not the goal of the game. the goal is telling a story and it does it very well.
