Quake 25th Anniversary / id's Pinkterton
On June 22nd, 1996, PC gaming as a whole was forever changed with the release of Quake. Born of strife and hardship behind the scenes, Quake immediately cemented itself as a technological powerhouse and a glimpse into the future of first person shooters with amazing AI, tight controls, and industrial soundtrack. But does it still stand up as a game by today's standards? Well kids, as your Gaming Dad, it's my job to find out. Come along with me for the season finale of the Ranger Report as we take a look at id Software's best and simultaneously most underrated game, Quake!
(yes, I accidentally referred to Tim Willits as TOM at the beginning of the video, I know, I know)
It's been a great month of celebrating this game! If you've been following the channel you've no doubt seen the Quake/Doom music mashups I've been posting, along with my first Ranger Plays video of Quake Champions. It almost felt a little like oversaturation, but heck with it. I've had a lot of fun this month building up to this celebration video, and thank you kids for coming along with. I'm looking forward to making more content for Season 2 of the Report, and doing some more Ranger Plays as well. Hope you enjoy this one, and I'll see you later for some more gaming goodness. Stay safe, kids!
