Say hello to the Zombie. He doesn't do much except comically tear himself apart and throw the meaty, decaying chunks at his targets. This doesn't hurt him, and nor does conventional weaponry. He's the closest thing to immortal that this game features.

'Closest'?

Well as the description goes, he can be gibbed, which instantly puts him out of commission. And as luck would have it, there's a Grenade Launcher less than 10ft from the entrance to this place.

This map also introduces us to the toughest non-boss monster around, the mighty* Schambler/Shambler. A big hairy sonofabitch that somehow conjures streams of lightning from its own clawed hands, and with these same hands it cleaves anything close enough into little bits. Oh, and there are two of them in a row.

How nice.

*Not particularly mighty compared to some of the things Doom's thrown at everyone.
