Quake III Arena PC Game Review - Exploring The Id: id Software History Part 13
In part 13 of Exploring the Id, we review Quake 3 Arena for the PC. Released in 1999, Quake 3 Arena was criticized for being a multiplayer-only PC game. We discuss the changes made to improve the deathmatch experience, weapon and item balance, the Dreamcast and Playstation 2 ports, the expansion "Quake III Team Arena", and the problems associated with the development of this game. We also take a look at Esports in the West, where key personalities like Cooller, Toxjq, Fatal1ty, 2GD, and djWHEAT got their start.
You can download Quake III Arena from Steam along with many of the other classic id Software PC games.
