Quarantine 1994 Modding (and loading into Doom 2)
(Note that timestamps have been added if you want to skip to the Doom part at the end)
I have been playing around with a game that made a big impact on me as a kid, the 1994 game Quarantine.I was recently playing with the files to see if I was able to read any of it, and have ended up creating a map editor, texture and sprite editors, save game editor, and a one stop script that exports everything and converts it into a Doom map (see the chapters - that part is near the end).
Note that this is my first time doing this, and was learning as I went along, so I have probably gone about a bunch of this in completely the wrong way. Happy to take suggestions in improving the process.
I'm aiming to create a Quarantine London mod for the original game, and it would be great to do some more on the Doom mod, as I have been advised that there are improvements to the way it loads the data that have been suggested (shout out to Cherno). I'd also like to get some high res map images done (and would love to know how large the full map is when set to the same scale as GTA3 etc - I suspect that it is much larger)
I created the subreddit https://www.reddit.com/r/QuarantineModding if anyone wants to chat about the game, or is interested in doing some modding.
Note that I am not going to share any of the original game files or textures etc. If you want to do any of this editing, you would need to get a copy of the original game - I 'm still using my original cd.
