Quest 2 v23 LINKED VR IL-2 Sturmovik P-47D Bombing Mission
Press SHOW MORE below game box and read..
No Music.. No Talking.. IL-2 Sturmovik: P-47D on a Bombing mission in VR... simply beautiful.. majority of the mission is anticipation getting there and then getting home.. but for those moments over the target sight.. it will be worth the ride.... Quest "V23" made it to me on roll out in 2 days.. I did not have to side load it and risk bricking my device.. patience is a virtue..
Using Oculus Quest 2 with new V23 software released 11-14-20 and tethered with a Quest LINK, now at 90FPS native and out of beta! This VR Headset is even more smooth and so dang clear with the V23 update, linked or Wireless.. great buy at $299.00! I am a fan of affordable technology.. no matter who makes it... will just push the other makers forward and price conscience.. software is set for 90hz and 4128 x 2096 resolution, which can be adjusted by a slider to 5408 x 2736.. what?!? Just wish there was some way to record what VR really feels like...it just does not come across right to me in flat screen videos.. anyways..
All of my IL-2 programs come from the Original Website, not STEAM.. but either place should not make a difference.. To Run on Quest 2 "linked'.. all I do is press the cog wheel in quest screen and press rift link to get to the desktop.. I press my IL-2 desktop icon to run the launcher.. I make sure the IL-2 LAUNCH program has VR checked under settings and press play.. it does the rest nicely.
For Race and Flight games, being tethered is not an issue and I prefer this sitting at the computer.. but for Front Person Shooters..it sure is nice to have wireless... Quest 2 gives me these options right out of the box!
I am not a fan of buying "anything" when not on sale.. but here are the links..

Remember.. My flight videos are how "not" to fly.. but still have fun.. I just put these up for me to look back on.. they are not always something people may like.. and I am "ok" with that.. Enjoy
Game is running on I7-8700K-1070GPU-32g Memory - Quest 2 LINKED system at 90hz, just like the wireless now and oh soooo smoothly..

I also use a cheaper Link cable from Kiwi ($18).. https://amzn.to/3miG4He
The Oculus link cable is 16ft fiber optic usb-c to usb-c and pushes 10Gb they say.. for 80 bucks.. the one I got is 10ft for 18 bucks usb-a to usb-c and works fine plugged into a 3.0 usb slot, rated 5Gb and real world looks like 2.5Gb when Oculus test the line.. which should be plenty.. I only stay stationary right next to computer when linked..so 10 ft was fine for my use.. many other makers on Amazon selling link cables with good reviews.. to be honest, if I ever seen the Oculus link cable "in stock"..I would probably buy one just to see if there is a difference.. which I doubt.
