No Music.. No Talking.. Quest 2 VR playing some of the FPS Shooters at 90FPS un-tethered... Just quick bot games.. I have both PC and Quest "or sidequest" versions of each game and prefer to play the "PC" versions.. Onward is the best in my opinion, followed closely by Contractor$ and than further down the line is Pavlov, but I love the "CoD" Modern Warfare workshop maps in Pavlov as much as the other titles..
I added a dedicated router behind the Cable Modem, as my "Cable-modem" is old and only showed 330Mps Wireless in Virtual Desktop. it worked but had hiccups, leaving the Quest "link" as the best option to PC.. although only at 72FPS currently... November 14th marks the day Quest "LINK" comes out of Beta and will have native 90FPS whenever they decide to update your headset.. no telling how long this might be? UPDATE: Mine arrived and updated on November 16th..
With Quest 2 Supporting Wifi 6, TP-Link WiFi 6 AX1500 (https://amzn.to/2GZm4KD) does it well cheaply, shows Virtual Desktop at 1200Mps and feels right on point.. more so than my aim.. Personally, I just like playing against bots these days.. why bother the pros with cannon fodder..
For me, Onward seems the most polished of the three and as you can see, WiFi with the PCVR/Steam versions work fine at 90FPS with Quest 2 and no cables hanging.. I am using "snap turn" in the games, which feels smooth, but records like a hiccup.. I don't know why the aim does not show down the sights in VR recordings either.. but yeah, I am aiming down the sights..
I like the execution of Contractor$ the best and Pavlov the least.. They all suffer from my ability to find the dang mags on reload.. ummm yeah.. user error most likely.. it is sooo much more fun having the FPS games surround you while you are in these environments.. flat screen games just do not compare! You just have to experience it to understand it..
I am waiting on a Quest 2 VR Gunstock to see if that helps me out or not.. https://amzn.to/3kzVF3H Surely it cannot hurt and it will add to the immersion and I will look so "cool" while playing, till I poke a monitor or something out.. anyways.. it looked nice and I do have an issue getting both controllers in the right place every time and keeping them there while aim/shooting. My fault, not Quest 2.. it tracks great.
There is a ton of these game videos played well on youtube and any of the games mentioned is worth a buy.. I just put this up to show "my reality" in them and mention the gunstock and the cheaply priced AX1500 that will turn your Quest Virtual Desktop app into 1200mps for the Quest 2.. I am hoping within a years time, I can play MSFS2020 in VR with this setup... time will tell.
SETTING UP THE ROUTER FOR QUEST 2:
First, I suggest your PC is not connected by WiFi to your home network and is plugged directly into your Cable/modem by Ethernet cable..
If you do not know how to add a router behind your Cable modem.. don't be intimidated.. it is a lot easier than it sounds.. My explanation would be just plug patch cable in one of the new routers LAN (not WAN) ports and to PC... then get to the access screen in a Browser by the routers address 192.168.0.1 .. login(default is U:admin P:admin).. turn off/disable DHCP... change the IP to one number higher than your cable/modem.. example: if "your" modem is say 192.168.1.1 than make new router 192.168.1.2 done.. now plug patch cable into regular LAN (not WAN) ports on modem and new router.. finished.. anyways... so now that I confused more than helped.. I went searching for a video, because I knew, I would just screw it up trying to explain it all.. here is , what "I" think is the most complete and clearest and easiest explained video on youtube: https://youtu.be/J5QJb3O19zI
