An RPG for the N64? Really? Well this is interesting... Quest 64 is a special piece alright. You play as a lone magician on a quest to save your father and retrieve some kind of book, I think. It is a bit hard, 'cause we are playing the game in Japaneese so I am not quite sure. But you are a magician alright... except we are not allowed to use magic. I know, it's a bit weird but that's the rules. So we skill our toughness and strength by taking damage, and eventually become a beast and beat everything to death with our club.
I kinda start liking the game, the more I play it. The first few hours were a drag, but once you start understanding how the game works and how to level up and such, it grows on you.
We play the JP version since it is a much improved version over the US version (which was released a year earlier): the balancing is better, the melee combat has been improved and the performance has been improved. You can't realistically do the staff-only challenge on the US version, since it skills up so slow. on the The downside though is that you can't understand what anyone says... but we solve that by a few guides here and there.
