Friday the 13th Part II is a slasher horror movie that was released in 1981 as a sequel to the successful 1979 movie Friday the 13th. It was directed and produced by Steve Miner and special makeup effects was provided by Carl Fullerton. The movie stars Amy Steel as Ginny Field, a young woman who is the hero of the movie and who defends herself against Jason Voorhees, played by Steve Daskawisz, who wears a potato sack over his head. Adrienne King, who starred in the first movie, returns, as does Walt Gorney. Amy Steel's character Ginny Field is memorable for using a chainsaw against Jason in the climax of the film and posing with a working tool fork in her hands which has become an iconic image.
The story takes place several years after Mrs. Voorhees was killed at the end of the first movie and follows Jason's quest for revenge as he stalks and murders anyone who comes close to his area of the lake. It is framed around a campfire story told by one of the characters at a training camp for counselors and includes scenes of suspense and violence as well as an unexpected twist in the final scene where Jason's face is revealed.
