R-Type is a shoot 'em up by Irem. It's a very routing heavy shmup and requires a good amount of memorization.

The Stage 5 boss is RNG and is responsible for many restarts. You can mitigate the RNG a bit, but not much. Stage 6 is the hardest due to intense routing. The final boss is quite difficult if you don't have both your bits.

It may be easier to no-miss this one, as when you die, you lose all your power-ups and are put back at checkpoints, which are generally placed in very dangerous areas. You can save your run if you die in Stage 4, but it's often better to restart, otherwise.
