Awesome game so far. Having the right weapon and ship really makes a difference for the second boss. It took me a few continues to remember which ship it was. Theres no pictures of the ships in the continue screen. It was not immediately obvious how to change all the menus to english upon boot up which was fucking annoying but it is under 1 of the options which is illegible unless you know japanese. So just fuck around with the options and youll get everything in english. Bullets can blend sometimes but the game looks, sounds and plays great. I thought visuals might be blurry based on the Switch demo, but on the Series X it looks very sharp and clean. The loading times after deaths are near instant too, unlike the Switch demo. I will post new attempts any time they are improved over this one. If I unlock freeplay I will just post the playthrough up stage by stage most likely, eventually in a single video and tutorial.

This was my second full failed attempt at the game. The first attempt was 3 or 4 continues that the game starts you with. For my second full attempt the game gave me 10 credits. I am assuming freeplay gets unlocked at some point, which would be the best way to work through the game. Looking forward to working on this game more. Still working on Gradius 5 for PS2 as well which is pretty brutal but very satisfying.

With close to 100 ships to unlock, there should be a strong incentive to keep trying different variations out. Ill see about a hardest mode playthrough after I beat normal.
