Known at Seiken Densetsu 2 or Legend of the Sacred Sword 2 in Japan, this is an action role playing game with gameplay similar in style to Legend of Zelda Link to the Past. The story follows a young boy who pulls a sword from a stone and releases monsters into the world. He then has to take up a quest to power up the Mana sword to save the world. The game is fairly unique in that there are three characters that can each be controlled by a player using multitap. This three player RPG involves gameplay where players can switch between multiple weapons or casting various elemental magic.

Theater 8 is recorded in OBS Studio using either the Elgato HD or the Elgato HD Pro. The silhouettes are recorded using a Logitech 920c web camera. All games are captured from the original game console with the exception of NES games captured with the AVS game system made by RetroUSB. Audio was recorded with a Rode Procaster and Shure SM48. All recordings were not held in front of a live studio audience.

#SPOILERS BELOW - Secret of Mana Gameplay Notes#
Let's play Secret of Mana! The episode begins at the entrance of the water temple. Luka informs them that Undine, the water elemental, is in danger at the cave to the east. The heroes storm the cave, killing murderous fish as well as taking on the Tonpole who turns into the Biting Lizard. They then find Undine who bestows Cindy Pootes with support magic and BRUUHH with battle magic.

Luka then informs the trio that they need to make their way back to Gaia's Navel and find the cave where the Earth elemental seed waits for them. In the cave, they find a crystal that is activated by BRUUHH's Freeze spell, allowing them to cross the lava. Inside they find reproducing goblins and magical chess pieces. The cave is rough, killing either BRUUHH or Pootes a total of three times, using all of the cups of wishes.

Deep within the cave, they come across Gnome who is outraged by the Sprite's actions and forces them to fight the Fire Gigas. The Fire Gigas makes quick work of Pootes (who unequipped her chest armor in the previous episode unknown to anyone at the time). This leaves the group with no healer and no candy. The party is wiped out by the barrage of fire spells cast by the Fire Gigas. Depression sets in.
