Raging Heroes' Vikings!
I couldn't resist these models!
I've generally enjoyed everything that Raging Heroes has put out.
Their Patreon releases have tended to veer more towards tabletop RPG players, whereas their physical model releases have usually more in line with wargaming. Not that the two can't overlap!
This new release (and the last few releases they've done) is nice in that there are lots of individual character sculpts, along with some bigger centerpiece models, but at their higher tier pledges they offer up a lot of troop choices.
Personally I'd love if they just had a troop option, but I guess that's what My Mini Factory is for.
These Vikings lean way more into the fantasy element of things than the usual Norse models. Very little regard for clothing or reasonably sized weapons, but that seems to fit with the design ethos of Raging Heroes. The rule of cool is in full effect with these figures!
The human- sized figures are all one piece, which is nice. I've had some challenges getting their models to stay together when they have lots of little parts. I even managed to get Loki off the plate in one piece! Hopefully he can stay that way while I paint him...
The Einherjar are my personal favorites. They give off a bit of a Confrontation Drune- like vibe with the face coverings and lack of clothing.
I think these are perfect for games like Ragnarok, or in multi based units for mass combat games where you may not need many figures to fill a unit base. They definitely have a lot of flair and dynamic sculpts!
