Found this on the shelf the other day while looking for a totally different book, and completely forgot I had it!
It's thin enough it had blended in with the other books around it (mostly 2000AD collections), so I figured I'd grab it and show it off.
I first stumbled upon this comic duo when I came across Marshal Law for the first time, which absolutely blew my mind as a young teen. Since those fateful days I've picked up pretty much anything either of them worked on.
This seems a bit different than their usual work, but then again, it really isn't- sarcastic puns and comments, allusions to interesting background lore, detailed panel work, and lots of action.
It does feel like a bit of a pilot episode for a longer running series, or something that they would have tried out in the pages of 2000AD itself. Not the kind of work that I feel would have been super popular with the masses in the mid 1980s, especially in the States.
These days? Sure, why not, right? I enjoy when creators do something different.
