God of War Ragnarök is an upcoming action-adventure game developed by Santa Monica Studio and will be published by Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE). It is scheduled to be released on November 9, 2022 for the PlayStation 4 (PS4) and PlayStation 5 (PS5).[1] It will be the ninth installment in the God of War series, the ninth chronologically, and the sequel to 2018's God of War. Loosely based on Norse mythology, the game will be set in ancient Scandinavia and feature series protagonists Kratos and his teenage son Atreus. Serving as the finale to the Norse era of the series, the game will cover Ragnarök, a series of events that bring about the end of days, and depicts the deaths of some of the Norse gods, which was foretold to happen in the previous game after Kratos killed the Æsir god Baldur.

God of War Ragnarök finally gets a release date.
Back with another video. Just a quick update. This morning the news finally came out that God of War Ragnarök is coming November 9th baby.
Why I’m doing this video, I dunno, just mad hype to finally get the date. As y’all know God of War is my favorite franchise, been an enjoyable journey since the PlayStation 2 days and Santa Monica Studios ain’t ever let us down since.
Sony and Santa Monica Studio also unveiled a variety of editions for God of War Ragnarok, which range from the standard edition (which costs $59.99 on PS4, $69.99 on PS5) and a “launch edition” that includes Risen Snow armor and tunic cosmetics for Kratos and Atreus, respectively, to the spared-no-expense Jötnar Edition. That ultra deluxe version includes the game, a set of pins, Brok’s dice set, a 16-inch Mjölnir replica, and much more.
But anyways just wanted to drop the update coz I made a video earlier in the year when there was that state of play where they showed us gameplay and a trailer and I’d assumed that the best case scenario was going to be a Holiday 2022 release maybe around mid to late December and a worst case scenario would have been a Q1 2023 release which also woulda been dope coz ultimately they should release the game when it’s ready. None of this listening to fans to rush and the trolls online abusing devs stop it. The games will come when they ready. So yeah turns out that ready is November.
Mad excited, lemme know y’all predictions in the comments down below how we think it’ll play out like story predictions, whether or not the game will fully transition into Atreus after it all ends or if Santa Monica Studios got a different ace up their sleeve in the storytelling like Naughty Dog had with The Last Of US Part II who knows.
