Railroad Tycoon II and its predecessor have created an experience that closely relates to the hype of many Sim games. However, unlike many Tycoon games, Railroad Tycoon is a game worth purchasing and will give hours of play time with a high replay value.
This game has a great formula that accurately recreates the feelings of early railroad tycoons as they gradually added to their railways and incorporated many towns along the way. You can choose to focus on passengers, freight or both. No matter what, you'll enjoy yourself and can increase the challenge with the varying difficulty levels.
Also if you have never tried playing this game over LAN with a friend it's a really great experience. Whether your cutting a route across the United States, or through heartland of the Europe, or across the deserts of Australia, Railroad Tycoon II is a must have for any serious strategy gamer.
