For some reason things aren't going as planned, but there's no need to panic. At least, not yet. I had somehow forgotten to build a maintenance station at one of my rural stations, which caused a train to have multiple breakdowns and thus a loss of income. On top of that I had to delete a train from a route because it was travelling to the wrong station; something I know could cause a train running in an endless loop without actually visiting the stations it had to visit. When all of that got solved and the new station was in use, things got a bit better, although right now the AI is outdoing me. But that'll change in the future.
