Rainbow Islands: The Story of Bubble Bobble 2 (NES)
0Since watching a streaming play a couple of games, it got me interested again in some of the NES games that I didn't finish and what they were doing. Rainbow Island is a game I believe I'd get to like level 5 and stop playing, let alone trying to get the big gems.
It's an ok game. It only has 4 issues I have with it really. While trying to go for gems, you can be trying to get it in that specific spot it wants, then it turns into a powerup instead, pretty annoying honestly. When enemies just kinda ignore the rainbow as damage and get stuck, that can be quite detrimental. At times, just falling down the rainbow, due to the lack of mobility, just either wastes a good bit of time, or outright can kill you. The last and I don't know why they'd do that, on the last stage I jumped up, only to be met by a enemy spawn. Not that hard to put enemies above the spawn line, so good job.
Still worth playing, it's not like there isn't infinite continues or anything, outside of the gems being a bit cryptic and annoying to land at times, if you go in blind anyway, it's fine.
