Rakuen Playthrough - Part 4 (No Commentary)
4In this episode, the Boy talks with Sue a bit about how she lost her marbles (quite literally) and returns some more of them to her. He also bribes a nurse with food to engage in some petty vandalism with an axe so that he can visit Tony’s daughter for the song to fix the music box. Since she doesn’t remember it either, the Boy and his Mom will have to explore Tony’s backstory.
Unfortunately, the player gets really sleepy and blacks out before said backstory can be revealed. Even more unfortunately, it can’t be skipped. Especially not the sad parts.
Rakuen is an adventure game by Laura Shigihara about an ill young boy who journeys with his mother between the hospital where he is being treated and the world of his storybook Rakuen. Within the fantasy world they seek the forest guardian Morizora, who will grant one wish to anyone who can overcome the challenges of the forest. In searching for the song to wake Morizora the boy and his mother help their fellow patients and their fantasy counterparts, bringing peace and happiness to their lives, and helping the boy and his mother come to terms with the boy’s own illness.
