Ramble: Poorly-grounded speculation on pre-contact forestry.
335WARNING: This is speculation. I ask that you do not treat this as more substantial than it is. It's a few paltry factoids with some guesswork on top, nothing more. It is what it is.
It's frustrating when you go to research a topic and are unable to find anything useful. This happens a lot in my line of work. Here is a neat idea, except that I can't find anything on the subject to build a video out of.
My apologies for any inaccuracies in speaking about the Ojibwe, I am minimally knowledgeable about them, and while I generally prefer to stay in my lane I also didn't want to omit one of the only interesting factoids I was able to turn up.
Hopefully some of you find these thoughts interesting despite the lack of flow and dearth of evidence or objective fact within.
