I love Simic Stompy decks! The plan is simple: ramp so that we can play cheap overbodied green threats and protect them with counterspells! It's the Delver of Secrets strategy, but in Standard and neatly power crept for 2025! The usual suspects of Llanowar Elves and Glimpse the Core are here to give us a mana advantage early. Tarkir Dragonstorm gives us Herd Heirloom, a 2 mana rock that can also be used to draw cards when our chonky threats get in for damage. Great versatility! We also get Auroral Procession from the new set which is straight up Regrowth at instant speed! It's perfect for this strategy, allowing us to bring back threats that have met their end, or acting as a psudo Snapcaster Mage to flash back counters from our yard at instant speed. Again, amazing versatility! Of course Green has the biggest bodies for the mana value, with Keen-Eyed Curator, Bloated Contaminator, and Regal Imperiosaur representing fast clocks to overpower our opponent's early and early midgame! Repulsive Mutation, Spell Pierce and Tyvar's Stand keep our beaters safe and disrupt our opponents' plans while our ramp ensures we have to mana to keep counters up as we build our board! The pieces are there for a great controlling stompy deck, but is it enough to compete with the hyper aggression of power crept 2025 Standard?
