So stoked to begin a playthrough of the OG of immersive sims, 1994's System Shock! Immersive sim might be my all time favorite genre of video games! The amount of time I've sunk into SS2, The Dishonored games, the Deus Ex games, the Bioshock games, Prey is definitely in the thousands of hours! This open world action RPG is the one that started it all! We play as a hacker, trying to steal cybernetics plans from Tri Optimum (the BBEC). When we're captured, an amazing chain of events sees us waking up groggily in Citadel Station, a huge installation orbiting Saturn. But, all is not right here! The halls are stalked with hideous mutants as well as hostile robots and cyborgs! And the resident AI, Shodan, doesn't seem like the nicest either. We'll soon find out just how not nice she actually is.
