2015 05-19: Here's a way to option select a block if the opponent does an attack in Mortal Kombat X. This is most useful when the opponent is waking up, but can be used in many different situations. During frames when the opponent could be attacking, just press block right before whatever it is you want to do, whether ex move or normal attack, and you'll block if the opponent is attacking during those frames, and if they don't, you'll get your ex move or normal attack right after.
