Ranni's Warning: "Do Not Marry Me!" #eldenring
802This video explains a puzzle about Ranni the Witch and the romance that fits into her story in Elden Ring. Ranni's quest culminates in a ceremony of marriage where you slip the Dark Moon Ring on her finger, and Ranni herself gave you the Dark Moon Ring, which indicates that she was the one who wanted to get married. And yet this very ring contains a warning: it has an engraving that says not to marry Ranni, and this engraving speaks in the voice of Ranni herself! So Ranni is giving mixed signals: she does and does not want you to marry her. How can we make sense of this?
