Perfect Dark was my favorite game on Nintendo 64, so I'm happy to revisit it in Rare Replay. It was an early first person shooter that had innovated many of the things we now consider standard in the genre. Dual Wielding, going prone and even reload animations all got perfected in Perfect Dark. The graphics are clunky and the speed of the action is super slow, but it was ahead of its time back at the turn of the century. I liked it better than GoldenEye, and it stood atop the FPS genre until Halo came and knocked it off. Not Bad! (It should be noted that this is technically the Xbox 360 remake version of the game, but that didn't hurt my experience at all!)

Rare Replay is a retrogaming compilation of games from Rare Ltd (the creative and quirky games studio) that is an exclusive to the Xbox One. The games included span the entire history of Rare's catalogue from ZX Spectrum games, to Nintendo Entertainment System Games, to N64 games and all the way up to Xbox 360 games. This has been especially anticipated since it was unveiled at E3 2015 this past June.

I've been very excited for this game. I loved several of the NES games in the collection, so I'm looking forward to revisiting those. I never owned a ZX Spectrum or Nintendo 64, so its very exciting to be playing these games for the first time. Also, I missed most of Rare's additions to the Xbox 360, so I can't wait for those either. And Grabbed by the Ghoulies will make a welcome addition to my Horror Retrogaming series!
