BLM are a terrorist organisation founded by communists. This video was made by a white person. Minecraft was made by a white person. White history matters.

Save lives, stop wearing masks, stop social distancing, stop hiding from a virus which is less deadly than the stupid people telling you it is. You're killing yourselves, you're killing future generations by following snowflakes. Get educated.

Fight the enemy. Words don't work, fight back.

...part 2! Which isn't actually a part 2. A video was requested for Minecraft performance on a Pi 4. There so many versions I had no idea where to start. So I narrowed it down to Bedrock, Java and Minetest. This is the Java Edition dedicated server video.

Bedrock was covered in Part 1. This, part 2, covers Java Edition. Minetest... I didn't see any point documenting. Server performance was nearly identical, if not slightly better than a standard Nukkit server. With Nukkit and Minetest you'll need mods, but I can't throw a ton of random mods on a server then complain about slow performance. Performance will be user specific.

Java Edition servers are feature complete so put the most strain on a server. In this video we can hit 390% CPU usage if flying around really fast to new areas. There are 4 cores on a Pi, so 400% is the CPU limit.

I'd recommend Minetest as it's completely free. You'll need mods to make it fun, but these can be tweaked to increase performance.

My Equipment / Prerequisites:
=============================
- Pi Model 4
-- With 64GB class 10 SD card (U1)
-- Using ethernet.
-- I have the 4GB version
- I have a small fan on my Pi 4 which I took off my old Pi 3. There's no mount so I just taped it on. it doesn't make a big difference to core temp, but it's better than nothing.
- Raspbian Buster with desktop (10/07/2019)

- Desktop PC
-- i7-5820K, 16GB DDR4, NVIDIA 1060 6GB, mechanical drives.
-- For installing Minecraft client and testing server.
