Ratchet & Clank Going Commando: Part 27: Cargo Carnage in Smolg
On the way to Planet Smolg Ratchet & Clank tune into Behind the Hero one more time.
Captain Qwark has completely disappeared at this point. He's been missing for six weeks, and no one knows where he is now, or if he's even still alive...
----------
Smolg is a massive cargo planet. Shipments are sailing everywhere here.
Starting from the duo's ship, I first take the right-hand route through this level. Eventually through this route, you will use the Levitator to fly over to distant islands and towers. One of these have a Platinum Bolt for you to pick up if you can reach it. There are also some ferocious beasts to fight along the way, too.
However, at the end of this route, you'll find a more civilized, fancy-looking guy among these creatures. This Mutant Crab lives with the pain that others of his species were only meant for killing and destroying, something that Clank can relate to.
The Mutant Crab has something to give to the duo, but you have to pay him a "meager" 40,000 Bolts so he can pay for food... Actually... the Bolts themselves are food to him.
He then gives Ratchet & Clank a transmission about a massive Protopet invasion on Planet Damosel's Allgon City, though news reporter Darla Gratch is playing off as the it being a mania that pleases its customers... rather than eating them.
----------
Returning to the ship, I now take the left route through the level, one that contains more internal sections of it that will require you to press switches and pull out the Dynamo, before finishing off with the Electrolyzer.
Past this section, Ratchet & Clank receive a Balloon-O-Gram message from Angela, from her homeworld Grelbin. She found her old ID Badge for Megacorp HQ, but unfortunately there were some Protopets on her planet, too.
Even after this point, there's still more of this route to travel through, and A LOT more enemies to take on.
Get to the end of this route to get one of the three pieces of the Hypnomatic gadget. What is that? That will be shown later.
----------
I am going to go to Greblin first instead of Damosel. It is... QUITE an impression of a level that calls back to how a previous planet in this game ran itself.
