Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Part 25: Keves' Greatest Mechanic (Valdi Quest)
0There's a large portion of Ribbi Flats that you can explore as soon as you first start out the area, but your main point of interest to really continue the plot is to head for Elsie's Spout.

Elsie's Spout was the path Ouroboros had to take in order to continue their way towards Swordmarch, per Ethel's instructions. However, they had to prepare themselves for a high climb that they didn't feel quite ready for...
High above where Ouroboros was, they were being watched by a Kevesi boy named Valdi. He was contacted by another soldier that his Consul was looking for him.
Valdi was there now to fight Ouroboros with a fleet of Levnises. Manana ALMOST managed to make him stop since she was just a Nopon, but then Ouroboros charged in anyway.
Thus, the start of Valdi's Hero Quest "The Kind Right Hand".
Take down Valdi and his Levnises and other Kevesi soldiers to proceed on.

Valdi's squad was promptly defeated, but he wasn't upset. He was actually impressed at Ouroboros' skills and strength at damaging his Levnises. He then went on to figure out the further errors of his Levnis after Riku gave his criticism on its structure.
Valdi then introduced himself as a Levnis builder from Keves' Colony 30. He wanted to beat Ouroboros to earn his Colony a huge buttload of supplies from their Queen. However, he didn't mind that he couldn't pull this off.
Valdi is also apparently out-and-out Colony 30's commander, being known as Keves' greatest mechanic.
Valdi plans to head home, but he realized he can't safely head back home on his own. Ouroboros, especially Lanz, offered to help him gather some debris for new Levnis, and then head back to Colony 30.

As a Hero, Artificer Valdi wield the Kevesi Healer class called War Medic. He is similar to Eunie's Medic Gunner class in that he specializes in both heals and buffs for his party.
He seems to lean a bit further into the healing side of things, however, such as having the Trickshot Art that heals allies just at it hits enemies. His main buff Art is Hyper Reload, which increases Defense compared to Enuie's Power Ring increasing Attack.

First, go collect the Levnis Endoskeleton, Self-Charger, and Auxiliary CPU so he can make a new Levnis out of these parts.
As you collect these parts, Valdi shares more thoughts about how he runs himself as a commander and a mechanic. How he was trained by a certain masterpon, and how he feels bad about how some of his Levnises have been treated.
Riku seems to have some feelings about how Valdi has a masterpon that he took after...

After gathering all three parts, return to Elsie's Spout so Valdi can build a new Levnis.
Valdi felt bad, however, that his Levnises were constantly used for fighting and killing, but Ouroboros gave him a new idea.
So he built a new kind of Levnis. Not one for pure combat, but to just be protective of him.
Soon afterwards, the whole party was met against Colony 30's Moebius: Consul Q. He was disgusted that Valdi did not want to keep killing the enemy, and threatened what could happen to his Colony if he didn't follow his "role".
Valdi decided to comply to Consul Q and return to Colony 30 to complete some kind of "Ultimate Levnis". Though the Mini-Levnis, Ouroboros followed Valdi back, too.

Just keep following the Mini-Levnis. Don't go too far away or ahead of it. You'll eventually reach Colony 30 this way.

At Colony 30, Consul Q pushed Valdi to complete his Ultimate Levnis, but Valdi really did not want to do this and hurt so many people from it.
When Q stepped out, Valdi planned to destroy his creation, but then Q reappeared and smacked him around.
Q wanted to continue his "game" at all costs, so he took control of the Ultimate Levnis, himself, starting with attacking Valdi with it.
Thankfully, the Mini-Levnis came in just in time to protect Valdi also with Ouroboros' arrival, but eventually, Q stomped it to scrap metal.
Valdi had a moment to remember how much his life matter if he could bring life to Levnises and how good he was as mechanic. He did not want them to be used in the way Q desired!

After the subsequent battle against Q in the Incomplete Siege-Lev, the machine was no more, and its explosion also reached the Consul.
Valdi was upset that this cost his recent Mini-Levnis its life, but he decided he would eventually rebuild it, make it tougher, and rename Mechafriend. He now desired to live on to protect everyone.
Noah decided to smash Colony 30's Flame Clock in order to help Valdi's Colony not have to do any more fighting, allowing him to further prioritize protecting everyone, instead.
In return, Valdi wants to help Ouroboros with their own mission.

Completing this Hero Quest, Valdi joins your Heroes roster, with Lanz being the Class Inheritor of his War Medic.
You also gain the Wall Climbing Traverse Skill, which you'll need to continue through the story.
