I remember giving this one a little play when it first came out. I think that was back in 2014?
WARNING: Zero progress from back then was saved.. not that it was much, but unfortunate that it was lost. Consider that a warning. I continued playing this for a couple of days after capturing this footage... uninstalled/cache-cleared... reinstalled... progress completely reset to zero again. That means even if you purchase something and switch/reset devices, you ain't recovering a thing. There is no "restore purchases," nor is there any cloud save functionality.
With a controller on a big screen, I was very surprised at how enjoyable such a simple infinite runner could feel. The bleak landscape up large... it has an oddly zen feel about it.
A big bonus is that this game has microtransactions that are not essential. You can still grind up your unlocks and gold without feeling like you are being punished for not burning stupid amounts of money for the dumbest little perks and things.
Handling is also quite superb. It is a simple game, and if you are coming from real games like PC shooters, you will notice certain limitations like a latency delay between single/burst shots being fired, or the "glance of zombie" deviation that steals your ability to control movement for a split second... but the thing is, it is consistent and predictable, so you can develop a play style that works around it.
Not once did I feel like the game was cheating. A real shame you have to grind pretty extensively to unlock additional modes only to lose them on uninstall.
