Free version... so this is the full portion of what you can play for free before getting kicked back to the menu screen. Want to progress further? Buy the full game.
I felt it was slow to start, but it appears to be a solid 3D adventure game.
Script wise... it is hard to tell if this is going to be any good. The art direction is quite nice. Very surreal and dreamlike. But the intro to this adventure relies too much on the typical "what's going on? where am I?" confusion-trope. That trope also drags itself out a bit too much with too many cutscenes at the start for my tastes. I am fine with good cutscenes, provided they have good, meaty substance for the story... these cutscenes did not provide that.
That does not mean the story won't get better, but that is entirely up to you if you are still interested in going deeper.
All in all though, this looks pretty impressive for an Android title. The light shooting ability and psuedo platformer nature of the level on offer in this trial are pretty interesting.
If you are a hardcore adventure fan and want something to add to your playable-on-Android-and-Shield collection, this will be a great addition.
Coming from the unforgiving old-school background that I have... Sierra type-&-click and LucasArts point-&-click adventures that required you to make the effort.. if you couldn't figure out a puzzle, or were not paying attention to the story... screw you, you can stay stuck with no major hints on offer! Unknown Fate seems very easy, and somewhat hand held... so yeah, a casual adventure game. That is not a bad thing, just be aware that it does not look to be especially challenging, at least at the start.
