Ray-traced lighting in Doom with PrBoom-RT!
Try it for yourself! https://github.com/sultim-t/prboom-plus-rt/releases
I saw a story over on Ars Technica about a community member who modified the Doom source port PrBoom with ray-traced lighting using Nvidia's RTX extensions, and I wanted to give it a try on my modern computer! Check it out as I play through the first three levels of Doom; I think that it's really quite impressive!
NOTE: I say at the end of this video that it should work with AMD's RX 6000-series GPUs. That's wrong; it looks like support for those cards isn't ready as of April 2, 2022.
