13The creepy and kooky spirit in The Addams Family 2 comes to life with more brilliant imagery and photorealism as it takes a road trip across America. The movie, produced by Metro-Goldwin-Mayer (MGM) with visual effects and animation led by Cinesite in Vancouver, B.C. used a progressive technology foundation powered by Intel® Xeon® processors and multiple rendering tools including Gaffer, Autodesk Arnold, and Intel® Open Image Denoise (part of the Intel® oneAPI Rendering Toolkit). See interesting comparison images of how Intel’s denoiser made a difference in the movie production. Kenny Chang, Cinesite head of lighting and compositing said, “Cinesite used Intel’s denoiser on every shot of The Addams Family 2 and were able to gain a 10 to up to 25% efficiency in rendering.
