Raya and the Last Dragon Shot Progression - Animation Breakdowns - 3D Animation Internships
This was a complex chunk of shots I had animated on Raya and the Last Dragon. It's a mix of physicality, acting, and cartoony animation. There was also the challenge of animating a long rope (and a door shattering). Fortunately at Disney, they encourage you to collaborate with other departments. I animated the rope being tossed, and the rest was taken care of by the amazing Andrew Jennings from the technical animation department. The FX department also added more broken wood pieces flying.
Fun fact: This is the only part in the movie where Tuk Tuk's antennae are shaking cause he's so angry. I added that detail and the directors liked it!
