According to Croatians military's chief of staff, the Chinese used these piece to find out the stealth secrets. China also asked the Yugoslavian government to share the remains of F 1 17. Due to the ongoing operation allied force, China had no choice but to store them in Embassy's basement, because they were not able to transport them by air or by sea. The U.S military detected the positioning signals coming from the wreckage, and became aware of wreckage's new basement location. They sent the B-2 bombers to bomb the Chinese embassy, and keep the military secrets from falling into Chinese hands. Nearly 11 years after this incident, China's first stealth fighter, Chengdu J-20 dragon makes its first flight in January of 2011. According to the Pentagon, Chinese J-20 may have originated from downed F 1 17 nighthawk.
