Hey guys, so I know this is a very touchy topic and I never want to step on the toes of anyone when speaking on the issue - I had fully intended to do this same exact video but with a review attached trying the foundation, because the YouTuber side of me always thinks that way - this video is different than expected because I can't review the foundation for you because despite the formula, I don't support the way that Tarte launched this foundation without certain groups of people in mind. Their response has been insanely unprofessional and telling, and until they do better, I do not feel comfortable recommending this product to you no matter how good the formula. I shouldn't have supported this launch in the first place, because my morals do NOT align with their behavior, and I let my "job as a reviewer" stand in the way of my beliefs as a human being and I purchased them, knowing full well that I was not going to recommend them to you regardless, which was wrong on my part. I am not telling ANYONE who to support, or who not to support - that is your decision. But I have a platform, and as an influencer with an audience, It is my responsibility to responsibly recommend or NOT recommend products to you with knowing the full background of WHY.

I can admit that I use other brands and foundations with shade ranges that are not insanely inclusive, and for that - I apologize. I always make it a point to point out shade ranges, so it is hypocritical of me to judge Tarte for something that other brands I support, do too. The thing is, Tarte just launched the most HIGHLY anticipated foundation of 2018, and that is why we hold them to a higher standard than most, because they had the opportunity here to do something BIG and amazing, and instead let everyone down with excluding SO many. I hope I got my point across correctly and that you understand where i am coming from in my due diligence of a social influencer, not to recommend products that I feel are morally wrong. I appreciate Tarte's apology and they have vowed to do better, but until we SEE that, its just words. I hope that you feel I am not speaking OVER anyone here, and that I am just tired of seeing this go on over and over again with no repercussions to brands that frankly have no excuse not to do EXACTLY what Fenty did with her foundation launching 40 inclusive shades.
