Record of Lodoss War - Advent of Kardis - Part 8 - Mostly Medallion Hunting
I'm now supposed to go take the heads to Narse, but first I go on a long jaunt around the earlier countryside to collect some medallions. I also revisited some of the older areas to use the book to unlock the magic seals I left behind.
The shaman dungeon next to the Temple of Darkness is basically the only "legitimate" way to die in this game (i.e., getting stunlocked) since healing is so accessible in every other situation. All of the other dungeons are rather easy thanks to critical builds being extremely strong. Even the golem dungeon, which provides statues you can use to stun the boss, is trivial when I can land two critical hits.
I start the Dragon Guardian subquest from Narse as well, as those items are pretty good armor as they provide elemental defenses you otherwise can only get easily from a helmet or a couple of choice accessories, and I can try to grab them when I pass by.
The other interesting bit here is that I pick up "Mana to Flesh" from the Titan dungeon, which halves my MP (which I am not using anyway) in exchange for tripling (!!) my HP. This improves my survivability a lot, and though the game won't display HP values over 9999 numerically, you still get all the HP so the effect is never wasted.
