Arthur meets up with John in Valentine, being brought into another money-making scheme. Namely, intending to get more money for the gang, John has planned a theft of sheep that are being brought to town from Emerald Ranch for an upcoming livestock auction, his plan being for him and Arthur to chase off the ranch hands from Emerald Ranch taking the sheep to Valentine and herd them to town instead in order to collect the auction money. Upon getting the sheep and successfully herding them to town, auctioneers refuse to pay the duo full price for the sheep, knowing that they were stolen much to Arthur's chagrin as John accepts the smaller monetary sum. However, this quickly turns out to be the least of their problems as they come to the small saloon in town in order to meet up with Dutch and Strauss where everyone is attacked by a large group of mercenaries led by Leviticus Cornwall himself since he has learned that Dutch was the one responsible for robbing his train in the mountains, his men taking John and Strauss hostage. After a tense standoff, John, Arthur and Dutch are forced to shoot their way out of Valentine against both the local law enforcement and Cornwall's own mercenaries with unarmed Strauss being wounded during the ensuing chaos. As they manage to clear their escape route, Dutch tells Arthur to meet him back in Horseshoe Overlook as he intends to move the gang from New Hanover due to Cornwall starting to go after them...
