Refresh my memory? I thought WE were the ones who /AFK out of matches? | Ashran # 345
7I just find this funny because they claim that we always /AFK from their matches, but then he is literally using /AFK when there are only 3 kills left in the match and deserter would be a lot longer? Perhaps he was going to bed, oh wait, but when we say that, we are just running away being cowards? You can't have it both ways LoL! Bottom line is, there is a difference between conceding a loss and leaving the match so you don't waste any more of your life in a match, there are also strategic reasons why you would leave the match to HELP your team too, I'll go into shortly later.
You concede the battle and fight another day, now why would you do this? Could be many reasons, you are tired, it's hella late and you have to work in the morning? Maybe Alec don't work and can't understand this one, I don't know? Maybe Blizzard screwed you on the match making and the enemy team has double or triple the Healers you have? Sometimes having too many Healers is a bad thing too, as you won't have enough DPS to kill anything, obviously not enough Healers is a bad thing as you won't be able to keep your team alive.
Any great leader knows it's OK to concede a loss to a battle and literally not waste another second of you or your team's life in a battle. You can do many things that are productive outside of this battle with your life and/or even stuff in-game, farming mounts, gold, reputation, questing, etc. I think it's funny that everyone thinks it's a DISS when you leave a match that is not going anywhere.
Sometimes it's best for you to leave too, for example, in Ashran when the enemy team is almost all Ranged DPS and they are focus firing you as a Melee, you are in fact just hurting your team by losing reinforcements for them. So it's best for you to /AFK out and hopefully the team will backfill with another Healer or a Ranged DPS in your place. This alone could turn the tide in the match, so you can't really call someone a coward for /AFK'ing, maybe it was really the BIG BRAIN play all along ... Alec can not claim this in this match though as the /AFK happened with literally 3 kills left to go, so there was not enough time for the ALLY to rally back even with a backfill.
