Remember when Gareth Bale was a 'flop' and almost signed for Birmingham?
15Gareth Bale hadn't won a Premier League game in his three years at Tottenham Hotspur. He was played in both left-back and left-wing and was considered a flop by the 2010 January transfer window. So much so, that rumours circulated about his future. Was he going to Birmingham City for £3m? He didn't and he became a four-time Champions League winner with Real Madrid. Would his future have been different had he signed for Birmingham at that cut-price that winter?
