Remembering Cannon Spike
Cannon Spike was one of the latest Dreamcast games released in North America. It's relatively expensive to purchase today, but hopefully by releasing videos like this Capcom will consider releasing an HD remake for the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network.
Cannon Spike is a hybrid shooter containing close combat elements, wrapped around a very nice looking package. It's a real shame not enough people had the chance to experience this game when it originally was released back in late 2000.
In terms of how it holds up today, the controls do take a little getting used to because the Dreamcast controller only features one analog stick, and the targeting system is an acquired taste. All the more reason for Capcom to re-release this on a modern console.
If you can find Cannon Spike on sale for the Dreamcast at a relatively affordable price, by all means pick it up. Grab another player and enjoy some truly excellent co-op gameplay.
